We provide professional mechanics to change your oil, lubricant, and filter. We know the importance of regular oil changes, and we generally recommend having your oil changed every three months or 3,000 – 6,000 miles. Our service advisers recommend discussing your vehicle’s appropriate oil change intervals based on driving style and oil type.
It is important to report low oil levels to your mechanic because you may have a leak or be burning oil. Your entire engine will seize if you run out of oil, and there is no way to fix it – you must replace it!
Please bring your car to us if you are experiencing any of the above issues. Our technicians will fix it!
Car Care Council warns that driving habits considered “severe service” requires more frequent oil changes. Oil changes should be performed every 3,000 to 6,000 miles, depending on how often the vehicle is driven. Oil weight should be reduced from 10W-30 to 5W-30 for drivers in cold climates (sub-zero driving temperatures).
An overview – Most oil filters consist of a high-strength steel housing filled with various filtering media. An anti-drain-back valve prevents oil from draining back into the filter when the engine is off. Thanks to their spin-on design, it is easy to remove and install today’s oil filters.
Purpose – The oil filter sifts out contaminants, allowing the oil to flow through the engine unrestricted. Should the oil filter become restricted or clogged with contaminants, it will flow around the filter. This bypassing is a safety mechanism, but you never want to let oil and filter changes go so long that bypassing takes place.
Oil eventually starts to turn into jelly. Literally – petroleum jelly. Sludge clogs up oil passages and keeps oil from getting to some areas of the engine, causing parts to wear out prematurely. And that means expensive engine repairs.
In your owner’s manual, you will find a list of driving conditions that are harder on your vehicle. The types of driving require stop-and-go, short trips, driving in hot or cold weather, and towing heavy loads. It may lead to a shorter maintenance schedule if some of your driving fits the criteria.
Your vehicle’s engine requires oil to function properly because it helps keep the components clean and lubricated. Oil changes are one of the least expensive yet crucial auto maintenance services you can perform on your vehicle. A regular oil change saves you money and preserves your vehicle.
